Description

The Purpose of  Flight Instructor Rating Program is to produce graduates who are capable of performing duties of Class 4 Flight Instructor- as regulated by Transport Canada.

Requirements For Admission

  • Age:An applicant shall be a minimum of 18 years old
    Medical Fitness:An applicant shall hold a valid Category 1 Medical Certificate.
    Before commencing flight training for the Class 4 Instructor Rating – Aeroplane, an applicant shall:
    1.hold a Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Licence – Aeroplane and have completed either:
  •  a minimum of 200 hours total time including 20 hours instrument time, of which a minimum of 10 hours shall be instrument flight time; or
  • the commercial pilot licence – aeroplane/instrument rating (CPL(A)/IR) integrated course.
    2.Before commencing ground school instruction for the Class 4 Instructor Rating – Aeroplane, an applicant shall:
  • have successfully completed the written examination and flight test for the Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane.

Experience

An applicant shall have completed a minimum of 30 hours flight training in airplanes and 25 hours of ground school.

Skill

An applicant shall successfully complete a flight test as pilot-in-command of an aeroplane, in accordance with Schedule 9 “Flight Test for the Issuance or Renewal of a Flight Instructor Rating – Class 4 – Aeroplane” of Standard 428 — Conduct of Flight Tests

(Please remember that these prices are approximate and based on minimum Transport Canada requirements. The length of training depends on a number of factors, and costs will vary. Prices does not include tax where applicable. Aircraft costs may fluctuate based on fuel prices.)

If any student exceeds these requirements due to their performance, the student will pay extra for any additional training. Any additional flight training will be charged at the same hourly rates as mentioned above and $80/hr for extra ground school/briefing. Pricing is subject to change.

The students must undergo Written Test and Flight Test for Instructor Rating. The cost of these exams and tests will be borne by the student. An approximate of $ 550 CAD for the written and the flight test.

All Prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD). The above Prices do not include Taxes.

If you have previous flight experience, then these records should be traceable and acceptable to Transport Canada and will be credited subject to Transport Canada rules and regulations.

Flight Instructor Rating was reviewed and approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
